Step Change in Safety, the oil and gas industry safety initiative, launched a programme yesterday to help reduce hydrocarbon leaks offshore.
Joined-up Thinking is a series of learning packs containing presentation material for safety meetings and training sessions.
It aims to link up best practice from different areas of offshore safety and is supported by a social media page to encourage feedback and debate.
Step Change in Safety team leader Les Linklater, said: “The message we’re trying to get through is that, regardless of their role, everyone has a part to play.
“We can’t be complacent and we know that we have to continue to reach out to the workforce at every level.”
Industry-body Oil and Gas UK has set a target of a 50% reduction in hydrocarbon leaks on 2010 levels by the end of March.
