A Norwegian lifeboat maker has smashed the record for free-fall after dropping its craft into the water from 66.8m
Norsafe reclaimed the record from Schat-Harding, who dropped their vessel from 60m last year, when it launched its new GES52 lifeboat earlier this month.
The 52ft long boat, which can hold 70 people on board, was dropped from a crane into the water at their base.
The boat, designed for operation in the North Sea, has been certified for use on the Norwegian Continental Shelf for drops of more than 50m
