The bodies of three workers missing after a maintenance platform sank in the Arabian Gulf at the weekend have been recovered.
The Aramco rig sank off the Saudi Arabian coastline, 265km north of Dhahran, on Friday.
Recovery work was carried out over the weekend with the bodies of three workers – two Indians and a Bangladeshi – were retrieved. A further 24 crewmembers were rescued, with many suffering minor injuries.
The platform had been carrying out maintenance on a well in al-Safaniya, the world’s largest offshore oil field, which produces 1.2million barrels per day.
Aramco said it was now investigating into what caused the accident.
