A mobile application is looking to revolutionise the energy industry’s access to safety guidelines – by targeting the most popular mobile platform on the market.
Petrotechnics, the oil and gas technology firm behind the operational performance and risk management software Proscient, has released an Apple iOS mobile support version of the software, targeted at frontline operations staff in hazardous industries.
The iPhone and iPad supported app is set to provide online and offline access to Proscient, which provides guidance on behaviour in risky situations – such as isolations management and gas test recording – based on company’s internal policies to allow consistent risk management across all outlets.
The app features barcode and QR code scanning for up-to-date information on work in progress and status of isolations, as well as automatic database synchronisation.
“Proscient’s mobility capabilities will help the industry move away from legacy, hard to use and unsupported mobile operating systems solutions to familiar and intuitive iPad and iPhone devices,” said Scott Lehmann, vice-president of product management at Petrotechnics.
“With the easiest and most intuitive user experience available on the market today organisations can see significant gains in productivity and safety with real time access to critical business processes, work activity and capabilities to record and update gas tests and manage isolations.”
