One of the bosses at Survivex is in with a chance of winning a prestigious national honour for keeping the Aberdeen firm’s finances in good shape.
Andrew Green – finance director at the company – has been shorlisted for the 2014 FD’s Excellence Awards, held in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW).
Mr Green has worked for offshore survival training specialist Survivex since the business was founded in 2011.
During the start-up phase, he managed company cash flow, provided daily updates to key staff and tracked the company’s spending to make sure it was within budget.
He currently holds board-level responsibility for finance, information technology and human resources.
His past achievements include leading a buyout, setting up a Dubai branch office and leading a project to develop systems to streamline business processes.
In the 10th annual FD Excellence Awards, he is competing in the young financial director of the year category.
These honours are decided by votes cast as part of a survey of 1,300 finance directors and decision-makers.
ICAEW chief executive Michael Izza said: “The diversity of industries covered within this year’s shortlist really highlights the breadth of the economic recovery we’re starting to see across the country.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday, May 1.
