Aberdeen-based oil and gas environmental waste management company TWMA has launched its first in-house training courses in Aberdeen and Norway.
The firm received the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) accreditation to deliver IOSH Managing Safely and IOSH Working Safely courses in November last year.
All relevant new TWMA personnel will be required to attend the one-day ‘IOSH Working Safely’ course, whilst pertinent TMWA management will attend the ‘IOSH Managing Safely’ course, the company said.
The management course will be run four times a year, with priority given to managers responsible for personnel on high hazard sites such as North East of Scotland, Houston, Norway, Egypt and Abu Dhabi, TWMA added.
“Safety is our top priority at TWMA and we are always looking for ways to improve our safety training offering for employees,” said Mike Riley, training advisor and accredited IOSH trainer for TWMA.
“Much of this training was previously outsourced to training companies, and so it is great to now have this capability in-house, giving us more flexibility over where and when our employees receive this fundamental safety training.”
The company is looking to expand its training to external customers in the future, it said.
