Statoil and former BG Group chief executive Helge Lund is said to be considering a move to Saudi Aramco.
The move comes just less than a month since it was reported he would be moving to Schlumberger to become a director of the company.
According to the Sunday Times, Helge Lund could become a board member of Saudi Aramco.
His role with Schlumberger was revealed in a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Schlumberger is currently led by Norwegian Paal Kibsgaard.
Lund moved to BG after he was poached by former Schlumberger boss and current chairman of BG Andrew Gould.
