Genel Energy today confirmed it expected lower daily outputs from the Tawke field than estimated.
The operator pegged daily production to be between 53,000 and 60,000 compared to the previous guidance of 60,00 to 70,000 bopd.
Net production from Tawke and Taq Taq for the first half of this year averaged 56,000bopd.
Production was “impacted by the 23 day shutdown of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Ceyhan export pipeline in February and March”, according to the firm.
The firm also successfully completed drilling a sidetrack well at the Taq Taq field. It is currently flowing at 3,000bopd.
“Future Taq Taq development activity will continue to evolve based on reservoir performance, with an overall strategy of drilling development wells to offset field declines,” a company spokesperson added.
