Gulf Keystone Petroleum made $112million worth of payments to government last year.
The firm disclosed the figure has part of Disclosure and Transparency Rules of the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
All of the payments were made in relation to its Shaikan Production Sharing Contract in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The sum was paid to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The government’s production entitlement for the year was 4.2 million barrels of oil, which equates to $89million. Its royalties in-kind amounted to $23million.
The Shaikan block is situated about 85 km to the north-west of Erbil covering an area of 283 km².
In December 2014, the firm’s production hit its target of 40,000 bopd. Output will continue to be increased until it plateaus at 110,000 bopd.
