HVAC & Refrigeration Engineering, of Aberdeen said yesterday it had successfully completed a £500,000 contract to supply water chillers designed for “explosive” atmospheres.
The firm specialises in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and services for harsh and hazardous environments.
Its deal with Cheshire-based Hughes Safety Showers (HSS), which supplies emergency safety showers, eye/facewash and decontamination equipment for the chemical and petrochemical industries, saw it supply 50 of Hazcool shower chiller units for projects in the Middle East.
Ideal for the kind of climates found in the Middle East, Africa and other parts of the world, the high-tech chillers can maintain stored water at temperatures to suit.
HVAC products director Shaun Struthers said: “We have taken time to evolve this particular product from our original design in 2009.
“We’ve taken into consideration market challenges and constraints, and have refined the solution to deliver a product which is efficient, reliable and safe for clients operating in harsh climates.”
HSS head of sales Simon Ingham added: “We required a particular solution that would meet strict temperature control specifications, whilst operating in locations with high ambient temperatures and demanding environments, and often limited onsite utilities.
HVAC … has worked with us to develop their product, which now enables us to overcome the environmental challenges and meet the needs of our clients. We’ve been impressed with both the end product and service and we look forward to continuing our working relationship with HVAC & R.”
Headquartered at The Core business park in Bridge of Don, HVAC – part of Aberdeen-based Nucore Group – operates internationally with customers in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, the Caspian Sea, central Europe, Africa and the Americas.
