Aberdeen-headquartered Deep Casing Tools has secured a £1.1m order with a major oil and gas operator in the Middle East.
It comes as the firm aims to strengthen its presence in the region, making key appointments to be based in Saudi Arabia.
Aqeel Al Faraj, a former senior manager with Schlumberger, will become the sales and operations manager, while a new field engineer, Mhadi Al Shokan, has also been appointed.
Mr Al Shokan has recently completed studies in the USA and has previously worked for a global oil and gas services provider.
Deep Casing Tools, a specialist in designing equipment for oil and gas wells, said the recent order was for 21 motorised reaming tools but did not name the operator.
Region manager Neil Hathaway said: “This is a very exciting time for Deep Casing Tools. We have already seen the positive impact of increasing our presence in the Middle East with major contract wins and recently signed agreements with new distribution agents in the UAE and Oman.
“I am delighted to welcome Aqeel and Mahdi to the team as we expand our business in the region. I am certain that their experience and expertise will be key to enhancing our ability to meet the growing demand for our technology, which helps our customers enhance their drilling performance, increasing efficiency and reducing costs.”
