McDermott has won a “large” contract for work on two oil and gas fields off Saudi Arabia.
The work, with Saudi Aramco, is worth between £39m to £196million for engineering, construction and installation services in the Markan and Zuluf fields.
The US firm will upgrade and control rooms in the fields and will carry out the contract from McDermott’s office in Al Khobar in the Kingdom.
Work on the project will begin immediately, which also includes fabricating new control rooms, boat landings and new jacket members.
McDermott’s senior vice president for the Middle East and North Africa, Linh Austin, said: “McDermott’s extensive history with Saudi Aramco and our commitment to the continued growth of Saudi Arabia’s energy sector is reflected in this award.
“We have a long track record of executing similar upgrade projects and believe that by working closely with our clients we can offer industry leading solutions which are suited to this evolving market segment.”
