Aker Solutions today confirmed it would cut up to 11% of its UK workforce.
The service firm said a “continued market slowdown” had forced it to shed 280 permanent positions, mainly from its Aberdeen and London offices.
The company today began the consultation process with its UK subsea workforce.
David Clark, Aker Solutions’ regional head for Europe and Africa, said: “These are tough but necessary measures to help ensure we stay competitive during a challenging time for our industry.”
Aker Solutions has about 15,000 permanent employees, of which approximately 2,500 are in the UK.
