European regulators have called for immediate checks on the type of helicopter which was involved in a North Sea helicopter crash.
There were 13 people on board a flight from Statoil’s Gullfaks B platform to Flesland Airport when it crashed.
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) said in an emergency directive that checks should be carried out on the main gearbox of Airbus H225 Super Puma helicopters.
Earlier this week, the Norwegian Air Investigations Branch (AIBN) said it believed the crash had been caused by a technical rather than human error.
UPDATE: All 13 people on board helicopter name by Norwegian police.
