Energy service company Bilfinger Salamis UK has secured a contract to provide inspection services to Maersk Oil on the North Sea.
The award comes as the company achieves accreditation from certification bodies DNV and Lloyds Register for the provision of Thickness Measurement of Hull Structures, extending its FPSO inspection service offering.
Aberdeen-based Bilfinger will provide a range of conventional and advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) services.
The award builds on the company’s long-standing relationship with Maersk, following a number of successful fabric maintenance and “walk to work” campaigns.
Bilfinger provides coatings, access, specialist cleaning and shutdown support services on all Maersk Oil’s UK upstream assets.
Sandy Bonner, chief operating officer for Bilfinger Salamis said: “This award is fantastic news as it enables us to build on our close working relationship with Maersk Oil, while further developing the scope of services we provide, including the use of tablet technology.”
