Oil major BP has been given consent to extend the use of the Tambar facility until 2022.
The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) said consent had been granted based on BP Norge AS’s documentation of assessments.
It concluded that the facility can continue to be operated safely and responsibly and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Tambar is an oil field lying south-east of the Ula field in the Southern North Sea.
The field has been developed using a remotely controlled wellhead without a processing facility.
