Songa Offshore has been given an acknowledgement of compliance from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA).
The safety body said in total 60 mobile facilities have received an acknowledgement of compliance from the PSA.
The Songa Enabler is a semi-submersible facility and the fourth of the Cat D rigs that Songa is building for Statoil.
The PSA said it had assessed the rig and decided petroleum activities may be carried out.
Earlier this week, Songa Offshore insisted three of the company’s rigs would still be in use despite being some of Norway’s oldest.
