ATR Group, which is merging with another Aberdeen oil and gas company, has won a contract to provide lifting equipment and inspection services to a North Sea major.
ATR will manage the mobilisation of 10 rigging lofts to support operations across Nexen Petroleum UK’s North Sea assets.
The company will also ensure that the equipment, which includes wire rope slings, hoists, shackles and working at height apparatus, is correctly certified.
The agreement runs for five years and has two one-year extension options.
ATR, which consists of five business divisions, did not disclose the value of the deal.
ATR business development director Dave Grant said: “We have a long and successful track record of managing and maintaining rigging lofts and associated lifting equipment to the highest global standards for companies in the North Sea and internationally.
“We are pleased to secure this new contract with Nexen. It will provide a great opportunity to fully demonstrate our strengths of providing experienced personnel, quality equipment and value-adding services to our clients and support them in delivering safe and robust operations in the North Sea.”
Last month ATR said it was merging with Centurion Group to create an oil and gas rental equipment and services specialist with a combined turnover of more than £100million.
Both companies agreed to retain their trading names.
