More than 100 workers on a Statoil-operated North Sea platform had to report to muster stations last night after a fire was detected on board, a Norwegian media report said.
A Statoil spokesman said there was a fire in a pump on Aasgard B in the Norwegian North Sea, but that the situation was resolved “in a few minutes”, Aftenbald reported.
According to the spokesman, no evacuation took place, though 102 workers were assembled at muster stations before being allowed to return to their posts a short time later.
