Lundin Norway has won a drilling permit for a well in the Norwegian North Sea.
The company will carry out the work on well 7219/12-1 after it was granted approval by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
Lundin Norway is the operator of the well with a 35% interest in the stake.
The area in the licence consists of blocks 7219/12 and 7220/10.
The well will be drilled about 24kilometres south of the discovery well 7220/10-1 in production licence 533.
Production licence 533 was awarded on 15 May 2009 in the 20th licensing round on the Norwegian shelf.
The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing drilling activities.
