Oil major Shell said it “commends” both unions and Wood Group after they came to an agreement on fresh proposals.
The move comes after the first strike action in more than a generation across seven of Shell’s North Sea assets.
Hundreds of workers had agreed to industrial action in response to proposed changes to their contracts which they had claimed would leave them financially worse off.
However, after renewed talks were held unions members were again balloted this time agreeing to the changes after a number of concessions were made.
Paul GoodFellow, Upstream vice president for the UK & Ireland, said: “Shell is pleased with this development and commends Wood Group, Unite and the RMT in reaching a resolution. We have been clear that change was essential to ensure that the UK North Sea remains competitive.
“This agreement is a positive step towards addressing the challenge of operating in a low oil price environment. Shell looks forward to working with Wood Group, Unite and the RMT to ensure that the North Sea has a strong and sustainable future.”
