Strike action in Norway has led to 1700 job cuts, according to reports.
It comes after the industrial action began last week, with seven rigs going offline as a result.
According to Norwegian media, 10 rigs will soon be out of service, leading to the substantial job cuts.
The Norwegian Oil Industry Association said the strike action could have “long-term consequences” for the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Earlier this week, 350 employees were laid off from Baker Hughes, Schlumberger and Halliburton.
