French energy giant Total is said to have cancelled a subscription to Sky TV on three of its North Sea platforms.
It is understood the cost of the service had been a six-figure sum.
Total is thought to have switched to BT Sport after a more competitive deal was offered.
The change of supplier is believed to apply to the Elgin, Alwyn North and Dunbar platforms.
Total declined to comment.
Last year, Talisman Sinopec Energy UK, now named Repsol Sinopec Resources UK, estimated it would save £600,000 after swapping Sky for BT.
But the same company later reinstalled Sky, having “listened to feedback from its offshore community”.
