Total has been hit with an improvement notice for the Dunbar installation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
The move comes after the French oil giant received a notice for the Elgin Franklin platform earlier this month.
An inspection in July found the company had “failed” to give effect to arrangement for control and monitoring an review of systems with staff not working in accordance with relevant procedures associated with those systems.
The notice said there was no record of “ex inspections” on portable equipment and there was no evidence of annual survey having been carried out to identify missing items.
It added there was no procedure for carrying out maintenance and testing of the company’s emergency generator which had not been updated to “reflect changes made to the generator since 2003” with planned maintenance work still not being followed.
Total has been contracted for a comment.
