Jersey Oil & Gas said its survey vessel has arrived at a North Sea licence to begin work for Statoil.
The company will carry out the work at the UK Seaward Licence P.2170 in blocks 20/5b and 21/1d.
The vessel is scheduled to acquire a site survey over the Verbier prospect located within the licence area for preparation for a potential exploration well which is expected to be drilled next year.
In a statement Jersey said the site survey is due to be completed in the final quarter of this year with interpretation of the results to follow.
