Engineering firm Costain is spearheading a consortium of North Sea firms to tackle the growing market for decommissioning.
Costain, which moved into the subsea market with the acquisition of EPC Offshore and Clerk Maxwell in recent years, has launched Integrated Decom.
Other firms that signed the agreement to join forces include Aberdeen-based Axis Well Technology, which will focus on subsurface and wells, environmental consultancy BMT Cordah and DNV GL.
The collaborative offering will offer integrated support for oil and gas operators looking to retire redundant facilities without the burden of an in-house overhead.
Frazer Mackay, of Costain, said: “The companies within Integrated Decom bring complimentary, critical technical skills which are required to plan and deliver compliant and cost effective decommissioning.”
