Dolphin Drilling is in consultation over further redundancies from its North Sea operations.
The company is currently holding discussions with staff following the decision.
A spokesman confirmed discussions were ongoing but could not estimate how many roles were likely to go.
The company has held previous consultations over job losses.
Dolphin Drilling announced in September it would make around 180 job cuts from its Norwegian operations.
Last year, Energy Voice revealed Dolphin Drilling was in consultation with staff over potential job losses from its offshore fleet.
The company’s UK headquarters are based in Aberdeen and the firm has two drillships and four semi-submersible rigs throughout the world.
