The European Surveillance Authority (ESA) has called on Norway to cancel a flight ban put in place after a North Sea helicopter crash in April.
According to reports in Norwegian media, the ESA is now suggesting the country is required to cancel the flight ban in line with the rest of the European Union.
Super Pumas have been grounded since 13 people – including two pilots and 11 passengers – were killed on a flight returning from Statoil’s Gullfaks B platform.
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) said in October it planned to end its flight suspension of the helicopter type.
EASA had said it was maintaining its “full support” to the investigation led by the Accident Investigation Bureau of Norway (AIBN) for the accident.
