Prosafe rang in the New Year with a double win.
The firm today confirmed Respol Sinopec Resources UK had extended its charter of the Safe Boreas until the end of the month.
The accommodation vessel is currently in the UK North Sea and will continue service with a reduced option periods’ day rate consistent with market conditions.
The Safe Boreas was named after the Greek god of the north wind and the bringer of cold winter air. It is supporting the The Montrose Area Redevelopment (MAR) project, including the Montrose shutdown; bridge linked platform topsides installation; hook up; and dynamic commissioning and start-up.
The 21-day extension comes a day after Prosafe’s Safe Notos started its three year, 222 day campaign with Petrobras,
Prosafe owns and operates 10 semi-submersible accommodation, safety and support vessels, and has an option on a new built harsh environment vessel that is currently at a shipyard in China. In addition, Prosafe owns and operates a Tender Support Vessel (TSV) that is providing drilling support services on the NCS.
