Statoil has released incredible footage of the substructure for its Aasta Hansteen platform leaving a dry dock in South Korea.
Statoil said it took two days to fill the dock with more than 500 million liters of water and move the substructure out.
It was being built at the Hyundai Heavy Industries’ facility in Ulsan.
Statoil said the Aasta Hansteen is the world’s largest spar-platform, and will be the first in Norway.
Its substructure is 200metres long, 50metres in diameter and weighs about 46,000 tonnes.
The platform is slated to start production from the Aasta Hansteen gas field in the Norwegian Sea late in 2018.
