Government ministers and oil and gas officials are due to meet in Aberdeen today to discuss ongoing strategic efforts to unleash the full potential of the North Sea.
The Maximising Economic Recovery (MER) Forum was set up to bring together government, industry and the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) to deliver a programme of work for the UK continental shelf.

Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Industry and Energy Richard Harrington MP is also due to visit the city today.
The MER UK Forum has eight core work areas each of which is overseen by an industry-led board, with tripartite support. Each board has a five-year plan and three key priorities for each year.
The body replaced PILOT and the Industry Council in 2015.
