Helicopter operator NHV has beefed up its Aberdeen headcount after being chosen as the company’s maintenance base for H175 aircraft.
Aberdeen base manager Jamie John said the location was picked because of the level of expertise at the facility and the north-east’s strong supply chain.
The Belgian company now has 18 engineers in Dyce, having taken on seven in the last six weeks.
The Ostend-headquartered firm now employs 40 full-time staff and six contractors at the facility.
The company will use the base in Aberdeen to carry out scheduled maintenance checks on its H175s.
NHV has 10 H175 helicopters operating out of bases in Denmark, the Netherlands and the UK.
It currently has three Airbus-made H175s in Dyce.
Mr John said company plans to add another two to its fleet next year.
NHV opened the base in Aberdeen in 2016 and has gone on to win a number of North Sea contracts.
In January 2017, the firm said it had secured a deal with Ithaca Energy to take workers to and from the Harrier development.
A month later, it announced a deal to provide flights for Seaway Heavy Lifting to support the construction of the £2.6billion Beatrice Offshore Windfarm in the Moray Firth.
