A north-east offshore services firm has completed a £1.5million project to design and fabricate equipment for a major offshore subsea company.
Motive Offshore Group, which is headquartered in Boyndie near Banff, produced a loading tower for Swan Hunter earlier this year.
The loading tower is the first of its kind designed, fabricated and operated by Motive and has been tailor-made to meet specific project requirements, including an under-bender chute and height extension sections.
Motive Offshore Group employs around 80 people across its marine equipment manufacture and rental and fabrication divisions.
Operated by Motive technicians, the equipment is currently being used to deploy flexible pipe in offshore Ghana aboard the Lewek Constellation.
Director of Motive Offshore Group, James Gregg, said: “This is the first time that Motive has designed and built equipment like this and we are extremely pleased with the end result.
“We have diversified our services over the years to enable us to meet the requirements of our clients, which allows us to construct high quality equipment like this. Our skilled team work hard to ensure we continue to build on our reputation for producing a high standard of goods.”
John Young, Swan Hunter (NE) Limited, project engineer, said: “Motive Offshore has designed, fabricated and operated key items of Swan Hunter equipment. All items delivered have been robustly built to a high quality specification.”
