Aberdeen-based Stena Drilling has announced it has entered into a contract with Nexen for to operate its North Sea Stena Spey platform.
The drilling campaign is set to last around 110 days.
The contract includes an option for an additional well on the Golden Eagle field in the Central North Sea and will commence on completion of the current well being drilled by Repsol-Sinopec.
A Stena Drilling spokesman said: “Stena Drilling is very pleased to be working with Nexen Petroleum U.K. Limited and this workscope presents another exciting new opportunity for the Stena Spey and the crews.”
The value of the contract has not been revealed.
Stena Spey is a semi-submersible rig built in 1983.
