The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has given Aker BP consent to use the Deepsea Stavanger rig within the Skarv field.
Managed by Odfjell Drilling, the Deepsea Stavanger will be used for the workover and recompletion of wells 6507/5-A-3H and 6507/5-B-6 H on the Skarv field.
Work is due to begin in March 2018.
The Deepsea Stavanger is a semi-submersible drilling rig originally built in South Korea in 2010.
Late last year, Aker BP awarded the contract to Odfjell Drilling for the Deepsea Stavanger worth $68million.
The nine month deal was agreed with the the rig to be deployed at various locations in the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea.
