Total’s boss has said the French energy giant expects to complete the takeover of Maersk Oil this week.
Speaking at a conference in Houston, chief executive Patrick Pouyanne said the deal should close on March 8.
The £5.8billion transaction was first announced in August 2017.
It hands Total a 49.99% operated stake in one of the UK’s biggest offshore gas developments, the Culzean field, which is expected to come online in 2019.
Last week, Denmark’s energy regulator gave the nod for the sale to go ahead.
