Ithaca Energy today handed in draft decommissioning plans for the Jacky field in the Moray Firth.
The Aberdeen-headquartered company intends to fully remove the normally-unmanned wellhead platform and plug and abandon three wells.
Five associated pipelines are to be disconnected and left in situ, buried at depths of more than 3.2ft.
The Jacky field was developed as a tie-back to the nearby Beatrice facilities, with first oil achieved in 2009.
Ithaca, taken over by Israeli firm Delek Group last year, applied to halt production from the field in 2014.
The decommissioning process should be completed in 2023.
Ithaca has a 52.5% stake in the field while project partner Dyas has 47.5%.
Production from Beatrice haltedĀ in March 2015.
Owner Repsol Sinopec Resources UK (RSRUK) recently said it hoped to have all workers off the Beatrice Alpha complex by the end of 2018.
Ithaca said it was in talks with RSRUK and the developers behind the Beatrice wind farm project to identify “any potential collaboration opportunities”.
