Total said yesterday that its UK North Sea boss, Elisabeth Proust, will soon retire after three years at the helm.
Morten Kelstrup, managing director of Maersk Oil UK, which was recently acquired by Total, is also moving on.
The new managing director of Total E&P UK will be revealed by the end of the month.
An engineer by profession, Ms Proust has worked for Total for 38 years.
Ms Proust was the first woman to be appointed vice president for development engineering at Total.
Later in her career she held the role of managing director of Total’s businesses in Indonesia and Nigeria.
She was appointed managing director of Total E&P UK in November 2015, taking over from Philippe Guys.
While in Aberdeen, she led the completion of the west of Shetland Laggan-Tormore project in February 2016, followed by the start-up of the Edradour and Glenlivet fields in August 2017.
Ms Proust also oversaw the relocation of Total’s north-east office from Altens in Aberdeen to Westhill.
The base was officially opened by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in December 2017.
She also served on the boards of Oil and Gas UK, the Oil and Gas Technology Centre and the Oil and Gas Authority’s technology leadership board.

“When she arrived the industry was facing a most challenging downturn. Under her leadership Total E&P UK reduced its operating costs by 30%, completed major investment projects west of Shetland and restructured its business to improve focus on asset safety and production.”
