
The Norwegian Petroleum directorate has granted Aker BP ASA a drilling permit for well 7221/12-1 in the Barents Sea.
The site, which will be drilled from the Deepsea Stavanger drilling facility, is a wildcat well.
Aker BP ASA will act as operator on the development and holds an ownership stake of 50%, with Petoro AS at 30% and Lundin Norway AS holding the remaining 20%.
The production licence for the well was awarded on the 3 February 2012.
The well will be drilled about 20 km northwest of the discovery well 7222/11-2 (Langlitinden).
