A special talk on operational safety in the North Sea will be held at Aberdeen University this week.
Kasi Usani, a technical safety expert at Shell projects and technology group, is hosting the free event on Thursday evening, discussing a range of recent cases in the UK North Sea.
It is being organised by AFBE-UK Scotland, a not for profit organisation which encourages engineering as a career choice for minority and under-represented groups.
Mr Usani has worked on projects in the UK, Middle East and South America.
Additionally, AFBE is hosting a networking event for students at Shell’s Woodbank House near Cults on Saturday.
Both are free to attend but registration is required.
Dr Ollie Folayan, chairman of AFBE-UK Scotland, said: “Due to his frontline expertise, Kasi’s talk will be of interest to a broad spectrum of engineers and those seeking a career in engineering. We are delighted he is headlining Real Projects this month.
“We’re also looking forward to the networking event which will provide the opportunity for those connected with AFBE-UK Scotland and those looking to work with us the chance to meet and share ideas.”
