Westhill-based offshore drilling firm Awilco Drilling has reported an increase in revenue in the first quarter of 2018.
The company, which owns and operate two semi-submersible drilling rigs, brought in first quarter contract revenues totalling of £24.9 million, up from £23.3 million a year earlier.
Awilco recorded first-quarter, pre-tax profits of £14.6 million, up £400,000 year-on-year.
The drilling firm owns and operates the WilPhoenix semi-submersible rig. which is currently working as part of Apache North Sea in the Val d’Isere field before moving to the Garten field.
WilHunter, Awilco’s second rig, is currently cold staked in Invergordon.
The company confirmed that it has also ordered a new build rig, designed to deal with harsh environments.
