A fledgling energy service group today announced the appointment of Walter Thain as its North Sea chief executive.
Mr Thain, who joins the board of Aberdeen-headquartered Three60 Energy, previously held a number of senior roles at Petrofac, where he spent 13 years.
He left his role as managing director, Petrofac engineering and production services, west, last year.
Until recently, Mr Thain was chairman of the Oil and Gas UK Efficiency Taskforce.
He will be tasked with supporting the strategic growth of recently acquired Step Change Engineering, adding further acquisitions and leading the development of Three60’s overall life cycle support services in the North Sea.
Gerwyn Williams, group chief executive at Three60, which is backed by Simmons Private Equity, said: “I am absolutely delighted to announce the appointment of Walter, as his wealth of industry knowledge and varied oilfield service experience both in the UK and internationally will add a significant value to our board and senior management team”.
