The topsides for Total’s huge Culzean gas field have set off for their destination in the North Sea.
BP, which holds a 32% interest in the project released pictures of the topsides leaving the Sembmarine yard in Singapore.
It comes after a naming ceremony for the Culzean floating, storage and offloading vessel – Ailsa – was held.
Total operates Culzean, holding a 49.99% stake, after having taken over Maersk Oil.
Culzean is due to come online next year, and is expected to meet five percent of total UK gas demand at peak production in 2020/2021.
