Helicopter operator Babcock has won a North Sea contract with Taqa.
The deal, with a minimum term of two years, will see Babcock transport workers to and from Taqa’s Harding platform, around 200miles north east of Aberdeen.
Babcock said it is adding a new Sikorsky S92 helicopter to its fleet in order to manage this contract, as well as others.
The fleet will operate five flights a week for Taqa from the Aberdeen heliport.
Work is expected to begin in early July.
Rob Dyas, director offshore at Babcock in Aberdeen, said: “This is an important contract for Babcock and we are delighted to have been selected as an aviation partner for TAQA.
“Our dedication to safe and efficient operations will see passengers flown between Aberdeen and the Harding platform in our fleet of S92 helicopters, specially configured for North Sea crew transport operations.
“We are looking forward to working with TAQA and to providing them with these critical aviation services.”
