The Oil and Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) will give evidence to an inquiry into the future of the sector in Aberdeen next week.
Chief executive Colette Cohen will provide insight to the Scottish Affairs Committee when it comes to the OGTC on Monday.
She will be joined by petro-economist Alex Kemp from Aberdeen University, Paul de Leeuw, director of the Oil and Gas Institute at Robert Gordon University, and Willie Reid, director of the Strathclyde Oil and Gas Institute.
The committee’s session will explore technology and innovation in the sector, delving into the research and projects being supported by the OGTC.
Last week the inquiry heard from former oil tycoon Sir Ian Wood, who said technology is the “be all and end all” of North Sea success in the next 20 or 30 years.
He added that “serious exploration” is needed if the sector is to achieve its goal of recovering 20billion barrels of oil remaining in the North Sea.
Industry body Oil and Gas UK also gave evidence, with skills and employment issues manager Alix Thom saying the sector is facing a possible shortage in workers as the sector picks up.
