Hurricane Energy said today that it had moved a step closer to first oil from the Lancaster field, west of Shetland.
The Paul B Loyd Jr rig has left the field, having finished well completion operations.
Both production wells for the Lancaster early production system are now ready to be tied-in to the subsea infrastructure.
Installation of the mooring system for the floating production, offloading and storage (FPSO) vessel is currently on-going.
The subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) installation programme will follow.
First oil remains on target for the first half of 2019.
Hurricane chief executive Robert Trice said: “I’m pleased to report that we have concluded well completion operations safely, bringing us another step closer to first oil.
“Offshore operations continue, with the installation of the mooring system for the FPSO well underway, and SURF installation on schedule to commence thereafter.”
