Middle East firm Conntrak Catering Services has put down roots in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, after identifying a potential gap in the North Sea market.
The group specialises in catering, housekeeping and laundry services to the offshore industry, serving clients in the Middle East, Far East and Africa and supplying more than two million meals a year.
It employs more than 300 people globally and its arrival in the north-east sees two permanent staff kick-starting operations in the UK, with support from consultants and company headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Commercial director Nathan Russell said: “The North Sea has faced many challenges in recent years, with the oil and gas industry looking at innovation and cost-effective solutions.
“This focused thinking has also opened up many opportunities. We have identified that the North Sea still has great potential over the coming years and have included this as part our growth strategy for our business.”
Conntrak has taken up space in BlueSky Business Space’s Westpoint House.
Bluesky general manager Angela Ritchie said: “It’s a very exciting time for Conntrak.
“They have already built a strong name and reputation for themselves across the Middle East and Asia, and we’re very excited to see them opening up here.”
