Vessel contractor Prosafe has been awarded a one-month contract extension for BP’s Clair Ridge platform, worth £1.8million.
The Safe Caledonia accomodation vessel first started its work for the platform in May, which will now continue until the end of November.
BP said last month that it expects production start-up of Clair Ridge in Q4 this year, which is targeting 640million barrels of oil.
The development lies around 45 miles west of Shetland and is expected to continue producing until 2050.
Ridge is the second phase of the Clair field, which BP last week said has “potential for significant future growth” as it reported its second quarter results.
The Safe Caledonia has a maximum of 454 beds, 9 offices and 67 workstations, and a telescopic hydraulic gangway.
