A platform supply vessel rescued an exhausted seal pup over the weekend.
Crew of the FS Braemar, part of Aberdeen-based Fletcher Group’s fleet, were alerted by a fisherman that the seal was near one of the ship’s fenders while it was sailing near Great Yarmouth.
The ship’s master and chief officer managed to pull the pup from the water using a net, finding it had been trying to seek refuge from the tide among the ship fenders.
The crew then contacted a local seal rescue team.
In a social media post, Fletcher praised the crew and said they have been informed the pup will be returned to the wild soon.
