Aberdeenshire-based oil service firm Infinity has been chosen to work on the FEED stage of the Seagull field development project.
Infinity said it would provide production assurance, pipeline integrity engineering and subsea technical assurance on behalf of Apache.
Apache has just agreed to sell its 35% operated stake in Seagull to Neptune Energy.
A spokesman for Infinity said the sale would not affect the firm’s involvement in the project.
Infinity recruited four engineers to support its growth in recent months.
Its engineering division has moved to larger premises in Westhill and it is expected that an additional 10 employees will be recruited over the next 12 months.
Patrick Duggan, subsea projects and operations manager at Apache, said: ‘‘Apache has worked closely with Infinity and their team on a number of projects over the past two years.
“As an independent engineering company Infinity has provided us with a range of engineering solutions which have quickly aligned with the Apache pace and method of delivering projects and operations scopes. We look forward to building on the positive relationship with Infinity on our current and future projects”
